Burton MICR System Solutions offers a complete line of equipment to ensure that your MICR documents meet and exceed your most stringent requirements. They include the MICR Verifier - a low-cost, portable testing unit recognized as an industry leader by such blue chip companies as Xerox and Hewlett Packard - the MICR Verifier MH, and the MICR Qualifier GT for Windows, a PC based measurement system designed for banks, check printers, engineering and quality control operations. The Qualifier is an accurate, versatile and reliable tool that measures character signal level, format, spacing, dimension, and peak disparity. Complete descriptions follow...

MICR Verifier

Our MICR Verifier breaks through the barriers of high cost and complexity set by other MICR testing equipment. The MICR Verifier is a portable tester which combines simple, one-touch operation with sophisticated built-in analysis software.

With a MICR Verifier, you can monitor the print quality of your MICR documents. The MICR Verifier supports the IBM ProPrinter (and compatibles) and can provide you with a report for each document you test.

The MICR Verifier is the ideal MICR tester for many environments, including data centers with electronic printers, proof centers, and check printers.
A MICR Verifier for commercial check printers is also available. With the Multi-Check Verifier you can inspect and test sheets of checks right off the press, without destroying press sheets.

Features

  • One-touch operation virtually eliminates training
  • Initial screen provides an easy to understand analysis.
  • User-selectable signal level alarm can be set for in-house standards tighter than bank specifications.
  • Small footprint minimizes required desk space.
  • User-selectable format specifications for different countries or when testing non-standard forms.
  • Optional carrying cases for field service use.

Operation

  • Press the Read key and slide the document into the reader.
  • The straight-through document path will handle large forms without paper guides.
  • The MICR Verifier will provide a general report of the document.
  • Use the Next and Previous keys for detailed information about errors detected.
  • If you have attached a printer, you can press Print to print a summary of the document. The summary includes the MICR data line, an overall summary of findings, full signal level details, and a date and time stamp.

 MICR MH Verifier

The Problem:

How to test checks that are printed not just on the bottom of a cut-sheet, but rather on the top or middle part of the 8 1/2" x 11" document. Until now, customers had to separate the check portion of the stub and then run it through their current MICR tester. This is inconvenient, time consuming, and a waste of paper and profits!

 The Solution:

Burton MICR Solutions announces the new MICR Verifier MH (Movable Head) tester. The new tester will test checks that are printed at the top, middle or bottom of a document, without bursting or cutting. Ideal for cut sheet checks!

The magnetic read/write head is adjustable to line up with the perforation point of each check on a sheet. This allows for the accurate testing of all aspects of the MICR line such as spacing, format, signal level, waveforms and dimensions of the MICR line in the 5/8" clear band, just like the current industry standard MICR Verifier.

MICR Qualifier GT for Windows

Latest technology for in-depth MICR analysis...

The MICR Qualifier GT is the only commercially available MICR tester that conforms to the latest revision of the ANSI (American National Standards) X9.27 standard.

The MICR Qualifier GT emulates reader/sorter transport and recognition technologies in a versatile desktop tester.

Combined with a personal computer, the MICR Qualifier GT offers a simple method to gather and analyze data on signal strength, character spacing, dimension, waveform shape and peak disparity. Gathered data can be stored to a computer for later use, or printed in report format. This information can then be used for tracking or document quality comparison.

The MICR Qualifier GT is an in-depth MICR analysis tool for your quality control staff, press operators, production managers and quality assurance officers.

MICR Qualifier GT User-Selectable Screens:

  • MICR Line Summary: Snapshot quickly identifies problem areas.
  • Signal Level Histogram: Graphically displays the signal level of each character on the MICR line.
  • Spacing Analysis: Analyses proper spacing between MICR characters.
  • Format Analysis: Identifies layout and character format problems.
  • Tabular Signal Level Summary: Displays actual and percent of nominal.
  • Waveform Analysis: Provides character dimension information with the option of a template overlay.

Specifications:

  • ANSI specified read/write head scans the entire 5/8" (16mm) clear band.
  • Footprint 10" x 15.5" x 8"
